How doulas make a difference:

What doulas do and do not do:
I do not perform medical tasks such as blood pressure, vaginal exams, or fetal heart monitoring
I provide physical, emotional, and informational support
I do not make decisions for you
I provide you with information, direct you to appropriate sources, etc. so you can make the best decisions for you and your baby. I support you in whatever decisions you make and can help with communication to care providers.
I do not exclude your partner
I am there to support both of you in whatever ways you deem fit
